Rock Band 3 will be Big, VERY BIG
Harmonix Lead Designer on Rock Band 3, Dan Teasdale, has said “you’ll be surprised at just how big this game really is.” What does that mean? Will this game introduce more musical modes to help people learn music? It looks like Harmonix is trying to position themselves as the #1 innovator in the field. This is important with the real playable guitar that Power Gig: Rise of the SixString will be introducing later this year. We’ll see, in a few weeks, what Harmonix is cooking up when they reveal more.
Stay tuned for updates!
Leaked: Rock Band 3 will have Vocal Harmonies
It’s been highly speculated that Rock Band 3 will include harmonies, something that was included in The Beatles: Rock Band and will be included in Green Day: Rock Band, but were conspicuously absent from Rock Band, Rock Band 2, and Lego Rock Band. If the feature is implemented, it is unclear as to how Harmonix would handle previous songs that feature harmonies within them (such as the Simon and Garfunkel tracks). Would Harmonix rechart them to include harmonies, or would it simply be affecting tracks moving forward?
FORGET THE SPECULATION! Chris Foster of Harmonix let slip, at PAX East 2010, that Rock Band 3 will have vocal harmonies. So the feature introduced in Beatles: Rock Band will live on with the next huge release from the Cambridge, MA based video game developers.

Rock Band 3 Rumors, Speculation
While hardly any details are available at this time in regards to Rock Band 3, speculation is running rampant. From bands that will appear on disc to any new features that look to be present, the music video game communities are speculating about as much as they ever had.
There are a few educated guesses that are fairly well-accepted. The first, and probably most-obvious guess, is that Rock Band 2 will export its tracks much in the way that the original Rock Band and Lego Rock Band did. Ever since Harmonix was unable to export “Enter Sandman”, “Paranoid” and “Run to the Hills” from the original Rock Band disc, it seems as though they’ve learned their lesson. Lego Rock Band was fully exportable, as will be Green Day: Rock Band. Harmonix representatives even took small jabs as Activision and their apparent inability to export full discs at one point.
The other widely-accepted idea about Rock Band 3 is that Rock Band Network will be carried over to the new title in the series. With so much work put into it and so much hype surrounding it, it would be a terrible falter to exclude it in the updated title. Rock Band Network will key for Harmonix in moving forward with the Rock Band series.
What do think Harmonix will introduce for new features?
